People and faces in different places
From Top Left to Bottom Right:
Owura - This was for his 21st birthday, which I know is a particularly special one. Owura and I have shot a few times before, but this one is probably my favorite photo I’ve taken of him.
Jenn - This was taken at a Streetmeet, where local photographers, videographers, and models meet up to create intriguing content. Jenn was great to work with and had the most natural posing that she didn’t even need any direction from me.
Jalloh - I swear this guy is at almost every DMV function, but I ran into him at Black on the Block at Franklin Park. His energy is always on ten, and his outfit this day was too.
Tati - This was for her 23rd birthday, and although she neevously claimed to not have posed in a while, we really nailed this pose and shot.
Akiel - My birthday twin and my brother Akiel! This was for his 26th birthday, and I just remember how it was an interesting challenge because I wanted to give the photos a bright, celebratory feel even with the overcast weather.
Hannah - This was definitely a random spur-of-the-moment photoshoot that I always look back at with a smile because of how elegant yet moody the photos from this session look.
Isaiah - My line brother Isaiah knew exactly what he wanted, and I can almost see his confidence shine through in this picture.
Ryan - Shooting with Ryan was amazing. The fluidity of our communication and his motion in posing felt pleasantly different than most shoots. We also did this shoot entirely in the rain, so just imagine him shivering between shots and me clutching an umbrella solely with my neck while taking the pictures to keep my camera dry.
Mr. Brown - I just loved this man’s outfit at Black on the Block, so after striking up a short conversation with him, he was more than happy for me to take a picture of him.
- This photo was taken at another Streetmeet. Sankara attracted most of the photographers at this particular moment, I was just glad I was able to get such a clean and smooth shot. This shot was also very experimental for me in terms of how I edited the photo, seeking to give it a dark, ominous look.
